  1. Hi

Thank you for your email regarding the rubbish by the footpath in Bartestree. We have been sorting this out with the developer and waste management for a while.

Please see the latest response below.

“Nicola passed me your concerns regarding the rubbish and recycling collection from Orchard Vale, Bartestree, Hereford, Herefordshire, HR1 4FF. Unfortunately due to the continued construction work at the site our refuse collection vehicle (RCV) is not at present able to safely travel into the site.

The collection point in question has been in place since June 2018 at was located in that area so that residents at the top of the site could easily access the pickup location. Now the that number of properties in that area of the development has increase so has the volume of waste left for pick up. Unfortunately despite being lettered regarding the correct use of the service and the temporary arrangements some residents are leaving waste at the collection point throughout the week, and are also leaving waste that cannot be collected by the crew, such as contaminated recycling sacks or garden waste in black sacks.

I have arranged to meet the site manager on Monday 21 January 2019 with Peter from our contractor FCC to review the current collection locations. I will also be writing to the residents following the meeting to inform them of any alterations to the collection point.

If the current collection location is still seen as the most viable option I will ask residents to ensure that the rubbish is left in a location that does not cause an obstruction to the footpath. Resident have been provided with green and black bins, which they should use for storage prior to collection only putting out their rubbish or recycling at the designated point on Thursday evening ready for collection on Friday.

Following our meeting on Monday I will update your further.”

    Kind regards
