DMGPC has become a Team Wilder Community Group.
A healthy natural world benefits everyone. From storing carbon to helping our mental well being nature is a vital part of our lives but now it needs our help.
All across Herefordshire people are taking action for nature, whether this is creating wilder gardens or managing farm ponds, every action makes a difference. By connecting all of these efforts we can create a joined up nature network and celebrate the effort that groups and individuals are putting into helping nature.

DMGPC is a member of Herefordshire Green Network. The Herefordshire Green Network is a not for profit organisation that brings together local groups and individuals who are committed to a thriving Herefordshire and work together to address the climate & ecological crises.
Hedgerows and verges border most of the roads and lanes we travel on in Herefordshire; when they flourish, full of flowers and leaves, we can see how much they contribute to our surroundings. But did you know what a vital role they play in our natural environment, that they are important havens for a great variety of wildlife, and also capture and reduce the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? If our hedgerows and verges are to continue providing us with these benefits we need to protect and sustain them for our present well-being and our future existence.
DITCHES & DRAINAGE – YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Following significant countywide flooding over recent years, it is all the more important for us to encourage riparian owners to take responsibility for their ditches and drains.

Landowners responsibilities for drains and ditches:
Potholes and local flooding are often caused by poor drainage, where ditches and drains are no longer maintained by landowners. Herefordshire Council has provided guidance for landowners to fulfil any riparian Duties they may have, and may also enforce if necessary.
